Russell Yohannan
PresidentRussell is from Maplewood, New Jersey, is a proud Puerto Rican, and has been involved in social advocacy since high school. He is a Socio-Legal and International Studies double major. Russell’s favorite things to do are ski, hike with his dog, watch the Nuggets play, and follow politics. He and Elias met in their FSEM where they both expressed their desire to increase the DU student bodies involvement in its campus and local community here in Denver.
Elias Lowland
Vice PresidentElias is a second year from Prairie Village, Kansas. Double majoring in sociology and psychology and minoring in French, he hopes to work in crime or the criminal justice system in some capacity. Elias has been interested in social justice and forensics since hearing the Serial podcasts in high school. After taking classes at DU, he has leaning towards a career in forensic psychiatry. Outside of FUTURES, Elias likes to do anything active, but especially play basketball, swim, ski and camp with friends.
Isabel Buchanan
Content Manager/In-Club LiaisonIsabel is from Des Moines, Iowa. She is a Biology major, Spanish, and Studio Art minor. She hopes to pursue a career as a Physician Assistant in Women’s Health. Isabel became involved in social justice in high school as a member of Community for Racial Equity (CORE). She also served on Iowa’s State Board for Equity in Education. Isabel enjoys oil painting, listening to New York Time’s: The Daily, and running.
Bianca Gruzmark
TreasurerBianca is a junior at the University of Denver. She grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and knew she wanted to go far for college. Bianca is a double major in socio-legal studies and psychology. She is currently a philosophy minor but is considering switching it to English. Bianca is very passionate about social justice and bringing about awareness of current events while continuing to educate herself. She is considering potentially going to law school after undergrad. Bianca enjoys reading, writing, listening to live music, and adventuring.
Lucy Richardson
Community Chair LiaisonLucy is a rising sophomore studying psychology and film with a concentration in neuroscience. At DU, she’s involved in the DU College Democrats, Film Production Club, the Alpine Club, the Public Achievement Program, and (of course) FUTURES Mile High. Outside of school, Lucy loves being in the outdoors, working on drawing and photography, and checking people on their problematic views and/or statements. She is very excited to serve as your Community Chair Liaison and to get our organization—and our school—involved with our local community and the city of Denver at large!
